Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lloyd Flinston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flinston's entrance music is When it rains it pours. A fine choice. Troy Owens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lloyd Flinston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Troy Owens! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flinston slips a jab from Owens. Owens lands a left and a right that send Flinston crashing to the mat, dazed. Owens thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Flinston is rocked!
It looks like Lloyd Flinston has been cut. Owens throws out a loose jab but Flinston uses good head movement to avoid it. Oh Flinston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Flinston looks to land a combination but Owens avoids it well. Flinston decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Flinston is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Owens has managed to free his arm - good work. Flinston is stalling here. Owens is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Flinston seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Owens has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Flinston seems to have got his legs back now. Owens stands up and we're back to a striking position. Owens misses with a series of wild punches.
Owens throws a combination that misses and Flinston counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Flinston tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Owens misses with a series of wild punches.

and Flinston counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Owens is looking to break free of the clinch but Flinston has double underhooks. Flinston tries for a takedown. No joy.

and Flinston counters with a straight right hand. Flinston closes the distance and pushes Owens back into the cage. Owens wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Flinston has him pressed against the cage. Flinston lands a right hand. Owens stops a takedown attempt from Flinston.

Flinston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Owens is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Flinston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Owens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Owens is not content to let Flinston control the position. Owens is trying to escape and get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Owens is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Owens taking a bit of punishment here - Flinston scoring with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owens throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Flinston sees it coming and avoids it easily. Owens throws a lazy right hand but Flinston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. and Flinston counters with a nice double leg into guard. Flinston throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Flinston with a flurry of punches that miss. Owens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Owens is breathing heavily. Flinston is in close to Owens's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Owens keeping moving, preventing Flinston from controlling successfully. Flinston is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Owens is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Flinston throwing strikes but missing. Owens has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Flinston off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Owens throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Owens lands a nice hook to Flinston's body. Flinston takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Owens misses with a double jab
and Flinston counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Flinston is looking to work some ground and pound but Owens has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flinston throws a strike but Owens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Owens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Owens wants to stand and escape but instead Flinston has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Owens wants to stand but Flinston is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flinston trying to control but Owens is working from the bottom. Flinston is looking to work some ground and pound but Owens has wrist control. Flinston loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Owens throws a lazy right hand but Flinston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Troy Owens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flinston is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Owens's half guard. Owens is trying to stand back up but Flinston is controlling him

Flinston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Owens on the ground. Flinston wants to control but Owens is keeping him busy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Owens misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Owens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Flinston was well out of range. Poor timing from Owens. Flinston tries to close the distance and clinch but Owens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Flinston takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Flinston shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice defenses there by Flinston. A jab from Owens misses. Nice straight punches there by Flinston. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Flinston. Owens tries to bum rush Flinston with a series of wild strikes but Flinston uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Flinston lands with an overhand left. Owens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Flinston manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Owens takes a jab right on the kisser.

Flinston forces Owens back against the cage and clinches. A frustrated look appears on Owens's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Owens dips to his left and cracks Flinston with an uppercut! Flinston gets a takedown into half guard. Flinston landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Flinston not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Flinston works his foot free and advances to mount. Flinston won't let Owens get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Flinston looking to control but Owens is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Owens taking shots to the head. Flinston misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lloyd Flinston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Flinston punishing his opponent with strikes. Flinston landing strikes from the mount. Owens is trying to stand.

Flinston scoring with strikes but Owens is staying in there. Flinston lands a big elbow. Flinston throwing strikes but Owens bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top. Owens utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Owens wants to stand but Flinston is controlling the position. Flinstonis looking to pass into half guard but Owens pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Owens is in guard. Owens is looking to stand up but Flinston won't let him. Flinston on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Flinston tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Flinston drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flinston sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Owens is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Owens throws Flinston to one side and escapes! Owens misses with the combination.
Flinston feints and as Owens raises his hands in defense, Flinston changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Lloyd Flinston showed his dominance in that final round. I think Flinston has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
