Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, nate diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gordon Gekko! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! diaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gekko's guard. diaz throwing strikes but missing. diaz drops back looking for a leg! Gekko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gekko manages to kick diaz off! diaz jumps back into Gekko's guard. Gekko keeping moving, preventing diaz from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. diaz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gekko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's one minute gone in the round. diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gekko is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gekko has escaped and now he's on top! diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gekko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gekko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gekko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. diaz is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gekko rolls with it to try and escape but diaz cranks on the arm and Gekko is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
