7 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Hart! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hart cracks Mendez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Mendez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hart swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mendez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hart pinned against the cage. Hart gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mendez throws a head kick but Hart moves out of range.

Hart tries to pull guard but Mendez holds him up against the cage and eventually Hart drops back down to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hart gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mendez.
Hart is trying to drag Mendez to the mat but Mendez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hart prevents a takedown attempt there.

Mendez wants the takedown. Hart is fighting it off but Mendez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hart's guard against the cage. Mendez throwing strikes from guard but Hart blocks nicely. Mendez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mendez throws and elbow that misses. Hart uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mendez's guard. Nice move by Hart! Mendez trying to keep a closed guard but Hart is proving a slippery customer.
Hart is looking to work some ground and pound but Mendez has wrist control. Hart slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hart passes Mendez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Mendez wants to control but Hart is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hart is trying to control the action in half guard but Mendez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hart trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mendez keeping moving, preventing Hart from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Hart dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mendez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hart throws out the jab. Mendez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hart manages to avoid it. Hart lands with a cross. Mendez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hart. Mendez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hart lands a slapping body shot.
Hart ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendez moves away. Hart lands a right hook to the body.
Hart takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Hart cracks Mendez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Mendez takes a jab right on the kisser.
Chad Hart seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mendez cracks Hart with a big elbow. Hart can't do much from the bottom here. Hart is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Hart trying to control but Mendez postures up.
Mendez wants to free his trapped foot but Hart is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hart is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mendez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mendez's back! Hart lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez just looking to survive in the bad position. Hart working for the choke. Hart lands a shot to the body. Mendez looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Hart looking for the RNC.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Mendez wants to hold on but Hart pushes him away. Mendez holds on for dear life. Hart moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mendez has worked his arm free - good work by Mendez!
Hart looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hart is breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Mendez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hart creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mendez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Mendez looking for a sweep but Hart has passed into full mount! Oh no! Hart trying to control but Mendez is having none of it. Hart misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Mendez wants to control but Hart is having none of it. Mendez tries to reverse the position but Hart maintains control. Mendez is squirming around, avoiding Hart's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Hart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

and Mendez counters with an inside leg kick. Mendez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Mendez raining down shots from the mount! Hart has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mendez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hart has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hart! Mendez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hart is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hart looking to sit in guard and control but Mendez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mendez distracts Hart with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hart wants to sweep but no luck. Mendez is in close to Hart's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hart not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hart pulls Mendez in to control the position. Hart preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hart looking to control.
Mendez trying to control the position from guard on top but Hart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hart's head. Mendez works over Hart with some ground and pound from guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mendez's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mendez looking to pass the guard. Mendez scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Tony Mendez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mendez stopping the sweep attempt from Hart.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez throws and elbow that misses. Hart uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mendez's guard. Nice move by Hart! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mendez keeping moving, preventing Hart from controlling successfully. Mendez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mendez has his hands on Hart's head, controlling the position. Hart trying to control but Mendez is working from the bottom. Hart drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mendez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hart has Mendez in his guard. Hart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hart looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mendez passes into side control.
Mendez tries to advance to mount but can't. Chad Hart is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mendez in side control, throwing shots but Hart defends. Mendez tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Mendez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hart has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mendez but great work by Hart.
And that's the end of the fight! Tony Mendez showed his dominance in that final round. I think Hart has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
