Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jax Mellon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mellon comes into the arena with Over - Drake blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mellon tries to close the distance and clinch but Hudson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mellon shoots in but no luck this time. Hudson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mellon tries to keep at a distance but Hudson has taken the fight into the clinch. Hudson tries to pull guard but Mellon holds him up against the cage and eventually Hudson drops back down to his feet.
The referee calls for Mellon to work.
Hudson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mellon as Hudson tries to tie him up. Mellon's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hudson tries to pull guard but Mellon holds him up against the cage and eventually Hudson drops back down to his feet.
Jax Mellon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Hudson. Mellon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hudson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mellon controls Hudson momentarily but Hudson frees himself. Mellon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hudson is one step ahead there. Hudson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mellon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hudson wants to pass the guard but Mellon is keeping the position. Mellon wants to sweep but no luck. Hudson looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hudson stops Mellon from standing up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Mellon moves in looking to clinch but Hudson pushes him off. Hudson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Mellon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hudson is trying to defend but Mellon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hudson trying to control here.
Mellon is trying to work for a kimura but Hudson is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mellon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hudson defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mellon lands strikes from half guard. Mellon is working for a kimura here but Hudson manages to reverse the position and he's now in Mellon's guard.
Hudson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mellon, up you get! Mellon closes the distance but Hudson moves to the side and Hudson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hudson. Hudson wants to control from the top but Mellon keeps moving. Mellon wants to sweep here but Hudson controlling him for the moment. Hudson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mellon lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Mellon is wriggling around but Hudson manages to pass to half guard.
Hudson escapes and gets back to his feet. Hudson misses with a takedown and Hudson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mellon dodges the punch combination from Hudson.
Hudson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mellon. Mellon obviously looking to wear him down.
Mellon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hudson moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Hudson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hudson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hudson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mellon moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mellon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hudson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Hudson can't break the clinch.
Mellon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hudson walks away with a smile on his face. Mellon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mellon closes the distance and pushes Hudson back into the cage. Mellon tries to score a body lock takedown but Hudson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mellon is looking to break free of the clinch but Hudson has double underhooks. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mellon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Hudson wants a takedown but no success here.
Mellon tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hudson's elbow. Mellon has Hudson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hudson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jax Mellon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mellon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hudson landing knees to the body.
Hudson has hold of one of Mellon's legs. Mellon is fighting the takedown attempt but Hudson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Hudson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hudson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hudson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Mellon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hudson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mellon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hudson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hudson winds up and cracks Mellon with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mellon is in trouble now - Hudson has advanced to mount! Mellon really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Mellon is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The referee warns Mellon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hudson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mellon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mellon tries to control Hudson's body but Hudson pushes him off. Mellon squirms to his side and now Hudson has his back! Mellon tries to escape the position.
Mellon looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. I would not like to be Mellon right now.
Mellon is trying to break free.
Hudson biding his time, looking for the opening.
Mellon tries to roll but Hudson sticks to his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hudson is trying to stick to Mellon's back but Mellon is turning into Hudson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hudson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mellon. Mellon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hudson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hudson managing to control the position. Hudson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mellon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hudson pulls Mellon in close to prevent any damage. Mellon stopping the sweep attempt from Hudson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Hudson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Mellon falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hudson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hudson. Mellon tries to pull guard but Hudson won't allow it.

Hudson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Jax Mellon has been cut. Hudson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hudson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mellon checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Mellon moves into the clinch. Hudson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mellon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hudson wants to get back to his feet.
Hudson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mellon is looking for a sweep. Hudson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hudson controlling the action here. Mellon is pressing down on Hudson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hudson distracts Mellon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Mellon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hudson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hudson pushing down on Mellon's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mellon is trying to stand.
Hudson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mellon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hudson is working away from the top position though. Hudson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mellon scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hudson manages to mount him!
Hudson is going olschool here, as he tries to force Mellon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mellon shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hudson punishing his opponent with strikes. Hudson looking to secure an arm triangle but Mellon defends it well. Mellon in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Hudson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mellon working to try and regain half guard.
Hudson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jax Mellon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Thomas Hudson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hudson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Hudson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Hudson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
