Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Richards!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris shoots in for a takedown but Richards shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Norris shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Richards looking for a sweep. Not yet Richards, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Richards is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Richards looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Norris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richards takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Richards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Norris keeps working.

Norris is looking for a sweep. Richards is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Norris sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Richards closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The referee asks Richards politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Richards prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Norris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Norris wants to control from the top but Richards keeps moving.

Richards doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Norris trying to control the position from guard on top but Richards is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Norris keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Richards's head.
Richards keeping moving, preventing Norris from controlling successfully.

Richards looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Richards counters with a shoot takedown. Norris fights it but they end up in guard.

Richards postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Norris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Richards, into his guard.
Richards wants to sweep here but Norris controlling him for the moment.

Norris drops back looking for a leg! Richards is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Richards manages to kick Norris off! Norris jumps back into Richards's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Richards has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Norris has passed into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norris tries to move to full mount but Richards actually manages to regain half guard.
Norris thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Richards trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Norris avoids the attempt from Richards to control.
Norris lands a big shot there that rocks Richards but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Richards tries to hold on but Norris pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Richards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Norris sprawls well initially but Richards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Richards not doing much here.
Richards thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are battling for position here. Norris manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Norris is looking for a triangle but Richards pushes his legs off easily.

Richards is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ryan Richards just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Richards changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Norris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Norris has hold of Richards's hands but Richards slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
