Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonah Roncesvalles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, D Day!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day tries for a takedown but Roncesvalles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Roncesvalles has managed to clinch.

Day has Roncesvalles pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Day pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Roncesvalles tumbling to the mat - Day dives into Roncesvalles's guard.

Day thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Day passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Roncesvalles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Day advances to mount.
Roncesvalles is looking to improve his position but Day isn't that keen on the idea.

Day get's back to his feet.
Day throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roncesvalles's waist but Roncesvalles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Day off to one side.
Day shoots in for a takedown but Roncesvalles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jonah Roncesvalles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of D Day.

Roncesvalles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Day has his foot on Roncesvalles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roncesvalles works his way back into a safe position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Day is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roncesvalles defends well.

Roncesvalles got a little sloppy there for a moment and Day has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roncesvalles has managed to get both his arms back between Day's legs - danger averted.
Roncesvalles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Day can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Roncesvalles controls the pace.

Day is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Day is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Day working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roncesvalles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roncesvalles manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Roncesvalles drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roncesvalles jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Day has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roncesvalles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Day has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roncesvalles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Roncesvalles has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Day wants to sweep here but Roncesvalles controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Day is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

D Day dominated that round.

Day passes Roncesvalles's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Day is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Day wants to take a breather but Roncesvalles is having none of it.
Roncesvalles is looking to control Day's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Roncesvalles avoid being mounted?

Roncesvalles looking for submissions off his back.

Day maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Roncesvalles could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Day has cracked it and Roncesvalles is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Day!
