Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toki Wartooth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Da Cougar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wartooth comes to the cage accompanied by Murmaider. The crowd seem to be enjoying Cougar's choice of entrance music: Those Damn Blue Collar Tweekers. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Toki Wartooth!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Da Cougar!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wartooth does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Wartooth closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cougar to the mat! Cougar manages to get full guard.

Cougar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wartooth is aware though and is defending well.
Wartooth is looking to work some ground and pound but Cougar has wrist control.
Wartooth in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cougar managing to control the position.
Wartooth postures up and lands a big shot to Cougar's brow.
Wartooth scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wartooth postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cougar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

A slapping body kick lands there for Wartooth.
Cougar looks to land a combination but Wartooth avoids it well.
Wartooth is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Wartooth.
Cougar works over Wartooth's head and body with a nice combination.

Cougar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wartooth, pushing him back against the cage.

Wartooth is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cougar can't fight it off and eventually Wartooth manages to take the fight to the floor. Cougar looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cougar lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wartooth!

I looks like Cougar might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Cougar looks for the body kick but Wartooth saw that one coming.

Cougar clinches up with Wartooth and pushes him back against the cage.
Wartooth has had enough of the clinch but Cougar keeps him there for the moment.

Cougar is trying to control the position but Wartooth postures up.
Cougar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cougar can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wartooth wants to control from the top but Cougar keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wartooth has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cougar is pulling down on Wartooth's head. It's preventing any offense from Wartooth, at least for the moment.

Cougar goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wartooth prevents it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wartooth looking to sit in guard and control but Cougar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wartooth is working an open guard so Cougar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wartooth shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cougar as he avoids it easily.
Cougar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Cougar slips a jab from Wartooth.
Wartooth misses with an uppercut.

Cougar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cougar seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Wartooth is concentrating on defense, preventing Cougar from advancing position.
Cougar is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wartooth keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wartooth wants to get back to full guard.

Cougar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wartooth defends it well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cougar is looking to take a break and control but Wartooth is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wartooth is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Cougar is working for a kimura here but Wartooth manages to reverse the position and he's now in Cougar's guard.
Wartooth working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wartooth postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Da Cougar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wartooth misses with a looping left.

Cougar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wartooth is looking for a sweep. Cougar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Da Cougar has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cougar is taking a breather. Wartooth says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Wartooth swats away the attempt to clinch by Cougar.
Wartooth throws a lazy right hand but Cougar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's time! Wartooth's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wartooth throws a looping overhand right but Cougar ducks down to avoid it.
Toki Wartooth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cougar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wartooth throws out the jab.
Cougar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Wartooth takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Wartoothis looking to pass into half guard but Cougar pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cougar is in guard.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Cougar wants to get up but he can't break Wartooth's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Cougar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee asks Cougar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cougar prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wartooth is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wartooth throws out a leg kick but Cougar moves out of range and Wartooth only half commits.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cougar.

Wartooth uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Cougar bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters circling - Wartooth throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cougar needs to keep his hands up - Wartooth had a free shot at his head there.
Wartooth connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Wartooth connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wartooth throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cougar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Da Cougar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Wartooth tries to throw a body punch but Cougar avoids it by throwing Wartooth back against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cougar holds on and takes a little breather.

Cougar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Da Cougar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cougar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
