McSlipster goes for a takedown attempt but Masterson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Masterson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McSlipster sprawls well initially but Masterson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

McSlipster tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McSlipster drops back looking for a leg! Masterson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masterson manages to kick McSlipster off! McSlipster jumps back into Masterson's guard.

McSlipster avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Masterson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
McSlipster ducks under a wild hook from Masterson.

and Masterson counters with a nice double leg into side control. McSlipster won't be happy with that.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Masterson drops his hands momentarily and McSlipster takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Masterson slaps away a takedown attempt from McSlipster, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McSlipster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Masterson manages to avoid it.

Masterson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Masterson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Masterson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Masterson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
McSlipster gets back to full guard.
McSlipster is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Masterson defends well.
Masterson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing McSlipster to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Masterson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - McSlipster pulls down on the head and he's put Masterson to sleep! This one is all over!
