Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jordan off to one side.
Silva wants to clinch up but Jordan keeps it at a distance.
Jordan scores with a hook to the body. Silva takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Silva leaves Jordan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jordan tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Jordan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silva.

Jordan is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the cage.

Silva tries a knee to the head but Jordan blocks it.

Silva jerks Jordan's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Jordan drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Silva goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Silva because Jordan was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
