Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Keen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keen has chosen Round One as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Hughes with that takedown attempt. Hughes takes one to the chin there. Hughes misses with a hook. Nice straight punches there by Hughes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hughes. Hughes throws a looping overhand right but Keen ducks down to avoid it. Keen misses the shot to the body. Matt Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Keen ducks under a wild hook from Hughes. No joy there for Keen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hughes tests Keen's chin there with a solid looking shot. Keen with a body punch. A glancing blow. The fighters circling - Hughes throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hughes misses the body punch enabling Keen to counter with a crisp jab. Hughes fails with the takedown and Keen counters with a nice uppercut. Keen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Keen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hughes scores with a jab. Hughes connects with the punch. Hughes swings and misses with a shot to the body and Keen counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hughes wants to slow Keen down by chopping away at his legs. Keen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hughes. Hughes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Hughes. That's going to take a lot out of him. A bone on bone clash there as Keen blocks the leg kick.
Hughes needs to keep his hands up - Keen had a free shot at his head there. Hughes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Keen. Keen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Hughes throws a hook but Keen blocks it. Hughes throws a combination that misses and Keen counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hughes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

It looks like Matt Hughes has been cut. Hughes is breathing heavily. Keen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hughes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Keen moves away. Hughes jabs at Keen's body. Keen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Oh Hughes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Keen connects with a body shot. A jab from Keen finds it's way through Hughes's defenses. Hughes takes a swing at Keen's ribcage but misses. Keen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Hughes lands a jab to the head.
Hughes seems to have got his legs back now. Hughes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Keen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hughes preventing the sweep. Keen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Keen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hughes defends well. Keen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Keen trying to strike off his back.
Hughes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Keen's head. Keen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Keen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Keen tries to control but Hughes wriggling away. BOOM! Keen connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughes blocking the ground and pound. Keen thowing shots but they're missing. Keen thowing shots but they're missing. Hughes tries to hold on but Keen postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Poor strikes thrown by Keen there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Justin Keen dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matt Hughes's cut. That's time! Hughes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Keen counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hughes thinking. Hughes lands a right hook to the body.
Keen scores with a jab. Hughes acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Keen slips a straight right by Hughes. Keen avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Keen slips under a jab. Hughes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Keen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Keen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hughes misses the shot to the body. Keen lands a nice looking body shot.

and Keen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hughes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Keen circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Keen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hughes sees it coming and avoids it easily. Keen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hughes at a distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hughes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A big left from Keen misses. Keen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Keen lands in his opponent's guard. Keen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Keen throws a strike but Hughes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hughes scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Keen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Keen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hughes! Hughes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hughes blocking the ground and pound. Hughes avoids a series of strikes thrown by Keen.
Keen throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Keen misses with a head shot. Hughes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Keen thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Hughes wants to hold on but Keen pushes him away. Keen working for a submission but Hughes is keeping him at bay. Hughes is looking to get to half guard. Keen putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Keen throws some wild stikes that Hughes manages to avoid easily.
Keen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hughes has worked his arm free - good work by Hughes!
Keen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Keen working away. Keen trying to control the action but Hughes is working from the bottom. Keen working the strikes but Hughes uses the opportunity to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Keen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Matt Hughes's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes looks to throw the jab but Keen is out of range. Keen slips a jab from Hughes. Hughes cracks a nice hook into Keen's ribs.

Keen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Keen is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Keen looks to land a combination but Hughes avoids it well. Keen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Keen gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Keen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hughes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Keen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Justin Keen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Keen walks into a jab. Hughes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Keen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Keen counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Keen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hughes.

Justin Keen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Keen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
