Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Canuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byrne comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm Shipping Up To Boston kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Canuto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conor Byrne! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byrne slaps away a takedown attempt from Canuto, before circling back to the center of the mat. Byrne darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Canuto avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Byrne. Canuto actively working from the bottom here. Byrne is keen to just control but Canuto is a slippery customer. Canuto is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Byrne scores with a couple of nice shots. Canuto is not content to let Byrne control the position. Byrne is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Byrne dominating with strikes here. Byrne lands with some strikes. The referee warns Canuto that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Canuto is working to get back to half guard.
Byrne goes for an armbar but Canuto turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Canuto. Byrne looking for a sweep. Not yet Byrne, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canuto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byrne swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Byrne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Byrne trying to control the action but Canuto is working from the bottom. Canuto looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Canuto is trying to get back to full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Byrne seems to be looking for submissions.
Byrne looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Canuto is trying to get back to full guard. Canuto is breathing heavily. Byrne is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Canuto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Byrne.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Canuto looking for submissions off his back. Byrne passes to full mount! Byrne landing strikes, looking to finish! Byrne working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Canuto looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Byrne! Submission of the night perhaps?
