Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keiji Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peanutbutter Smack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peanutbutter Smack will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keiji Suzuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peanutbutter Smack!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smack fails to land the takedown.
Suzuki is looking to slow Smack down with leg kicks.

Suzuki has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smack keeps control of Suzuki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Suzuki has had enough of the clinch but Smack keeps him there for the moment.
Smack prevents Suzuki from breaking the clinch.

Smack drags the fight down to the ground.
Suzuki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smack is keeping the position for now.
Smack throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Suzuki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suzuki has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smack wants to stand and escape but Suzuki is having none of it.
Suzuki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Smack throws a nice looking combination but Suzuki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smack is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Keiji Suzuki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peanutbutter Smack.

Smack tries for a takedown but Suzuki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Smack throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smack chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Suzuki can pounce on him.

Peanutbutter Smack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Suzuki darts in and clinches Smack up against the cage.
Suzuki wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Smack fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smack wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Smack jumps guard but Suzuki stands there with Smack around his waist. Smack gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Suzuki rushes Smack and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Suzuki wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Suzuki has had enough of the clinch but Smack keeps him there for the moment.
Smack trying to land knees to the body.
Suzuki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Suzuki wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smack has him pressed against the cage.
Smack tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Suzuki taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Smack tries to pull guard but Suzuki holds him up against the cage and eventually Smack drops back down to his feet.
Suzuki on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Suzuki wants to get back to striking at distance but Smack won't allow it.
Suzuki tries to break the clinch but Smack is controlling the position.
Smack can't break the clinch.
Smack prevents Suzuki from breaking the clinch.
Smack has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Suzuki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Suzuki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keiji Suzuki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Suzuki throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Smack misses with a few strikes there.
Smack takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
No joy there for Smack, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Suzuki shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Suzuki trying to control the pace.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Smack is looking to control Suzuki's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smack avoid being mounted?

Smack wants to get back to his feet.
Smack wants to improve his position but Suzuki is controlling well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Suzuki in particular looking to stall.
Smack tries to get to full guard but Suzuki has control of the leg.
Smack wants to control but Suzuki is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Suzuki counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Suzuki.

Suzuki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smack's waist but Smack gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suzuki off to one side.

Smack looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Peanutbutter Smack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Suzuki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Smack misses with the combination.

and Suzuki counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smack's knee momentarily.

Suzuki fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smack checks it well.
Smack throws a series of punches but Suzuki avoids them all with ease.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Smack moves out of range as Suzuki throws a body kick.

That's time! Suzuki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Smack scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smack shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suzuki pinned against the cage. Suzuki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smack takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Smack throws the left hand but Suzuki avoids the punch easily.

and Suzuki counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Smack's guard now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smack catches Suzuki napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Suzuki to the canvas!

Peanutbutter Smack comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Suzuki has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
