Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Blevins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Blevins!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Blevins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gracie gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Blevins misses with a hook to the ribs.

Blevins pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blevins controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.
Gracie trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blevins's guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Blevins keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie wants to stand but Blevins is controlling his posture from full guard.
Blevins is pulling down on Gracie's head. It's preventing any offense from Gracie, at least for the moment.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Blevins keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Blevins trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Blevins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Blevins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Blevins holds on and takes a little breather.
Gracie won't allow Blevins to sweep him here.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Blevins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blevins manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Blevins's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blevins has a closed guard, preventing Gracie from standing up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Blevins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blevins manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Blevins's guard.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blevins pinned against the cage. Blevins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Blevins wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Blevins trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Blevins might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gracie kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Blevins looks to throw the jab but Gracie is out of range.
Gracie has his takedown stuffed

and Blevins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gracie won't be happy with that.
Blevins misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Blevins wants to control for a moment but Gracie uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Blevins preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gracie wants to stand but Blevins has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Gracie seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Blevins has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gracie wants to take a breather but Blevins is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dave Blevins will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blevins's guard.

Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Blevins swats away the attempt to clinch by Gracie.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt

and Blevins holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Blevins stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Blevins is looking to break free of the clinch but Gracie has double underhooks.
Blevins jumps guard but Gracie stands there with Blevins around his waist. Blevins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dave Blevins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
