The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Sloan or perhaps it was just good defense by Savage which made him look bad.
Savage throws a looping overhand right but Sloan ducks down to avoid it.
Sloan moves out of range as Savage throws a body kick.

It looks like Humphrey Sloan has been cut.
Sloan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sloan showed some decent athleticism there.

Sloan is working for a kimura but Savage is defending it quite comfortably.
Savage throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Savage is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sloan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sloan's back!

Sloan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Savage's guard. Nice work there by Sloan.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Savage can do anything to dispel that myth.
Savage has his foot on Sloan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sloan works his way back into a safe position though.
Savage pushes a forearm under Sloan's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sloan is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
