Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Gillespie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gillespie's entrance music is Go to sleep bit**. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Jackson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson has a takedown stuffed. Andrew Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gillespie tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance. Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gillespie has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.
Gillespie lands a nice knee to the body. Gillespie crunches a lovely knee into Jackson's ribcage. Gillespie lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Andrew Jackson has been cut. Gillespie drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gillespie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jackson! Gillespie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Jackson is squirming around, avoiding Gillespie's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gillespie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jackson pulls his head out easily. Jackson content to control rather than advance. Gillespie is trying to control but Jackson passes into side control!
Gillespie is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jackson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Gillespie controlling the position well. Jackson prevents Gillespie from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gillespie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Gillespie works his way to full guard. Good work. Gillespie is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gillespie wants to hit a switch here but Jackson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gillespie there! Gillespie tries to control Jackson's body but Jackson pushes him off. Gillespie squirms to his side and now Jackson has his back! You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gillespie regains full guard. Nicely done. Jackson wants to control from the top but Gillespie keeps moving. Gillespie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gillespie is on top in guard.
Gillespie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gillespie passes into half guard. Jackson is staying active underneath Gillespie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gillespie moves nicely into side control. Gillespie tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Gillespie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jackson, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gillespie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jackson prevents Gillespie from moving into mount. Gillespie tries for a kimura but Jackson is defending well. Gillespie trying to control the position but Jackson is working away. Gillespie is trying to ground and pound but Jackson uses the momentary lack of control by Gillespie to regain half guard. Gillespie trying to pass the guard but Jackson defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gillespie is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Jackson manages to get to full guard. Gillespie scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jackson is pulling down on Gillespie's head to control his posture. Dallas Gillespie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gillespie wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position. Gillespie wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Gillespie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jackson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dallas Gillespie dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Andrew Jackson's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Gillespie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jackson gets the takedown into side control. Gillespie throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Gillespie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Jackson is doing well to control the position and prevent Gillespie from advancing to side control. Jackson gets back to full guard.
Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gillespie! Gillespie tries to hold on but Jackson postures up.

Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gillespie tries to lock up and control but Jackson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gillespie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. That's three minutes gone in the round. Gillespie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
What can Gillespie do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
