Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joao Nascimento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Chek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chek gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nascimento tries to break the clinch but Chek is controlling the position.
The referee calls for Chek to work.
Chek has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nascimento regains guard immediately.
Chek looking to sit in guard and control but Nascimento gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Nascimento postures up.
Nascimento wants to control from the top but Chek keeps moving.

Nascimento decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Chek is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Chek must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Chek throws a strike but Nascimento rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nascimento is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Chek is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Chek is pushing down on Nascimento's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nascimento is fighting to maintain full guard but Chek has managed to sneak the leg through.

Chek misses with a head shot. Nascimento uses the momentum to regain guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chek is looking to advance position but Nascimento has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Chek is desperately trying to improve his position but Nascimento has a good base and remains in mount.

Nascimento avoids the attempt from Chek to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nascimento takes Chek's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Chek is in trouble.
Chek staying busy and making it hard for Nascimento to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nascimento doesn't have the hooks in and Chek manages to turn into his guard.
Chek lands a couple of digs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Luiz Chek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Chek shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nascimento's guard.

Nascimento is looking to stand up but Chek isn't so interested in that idea.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chek accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chek wants to control from the top but Nascimento keeps moving.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nascimento.
Chek looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Chek is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Luiz Chek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Chek has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
