Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Carro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Norton!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carro avoids the head kick by Norton.

Norton tries to clinch there but Carro circles away.

Norton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carro with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Carro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Norton sprawls well initially but Carro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Norton is looking to get back to full guard here but Carro has managed to pass to side control instead.
Norton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Carro goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Norton is on top in guard.

Carro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Norton's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Carro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Norton sprawls well initially but Carro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Carro wants to work for an arm triangle but Norton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Norton is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carro thows a huge punch but Norton dodges it nicely.

Carro is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Norton trying to hold on to Carro's head to control him but Carro postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norton is looking for a sweep. Carro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Norton throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Norton throws a sloppy head kick and Carro moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Carro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Norton is trying to control the position but Carro postures up.
Norton wants to get back to his feet but Carro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Carro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Norton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carro has Norton in his guard.
Norton wants to stand but Carro is controlling his posture from full guard.

Carro looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Norton unloads a knee to the mid-section. Carro lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Norton tries to break free but Carro pushes him back against the cage.
Norton wants to get back to striking at distance but Carro won't allow it.

so Carro counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carro is working Norton over against the cage.

Carro is trying to break the clinch but Norton has him pressed against the cage.

Carro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Norton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Travis Norton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Travis Norton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Carro here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Carro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
