Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and scot jenkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jenkin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
jenkin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
jenkin misses with a head kick.
Souza shoots in for a takedown but jenkin shows good takedown defense.
jenkin stuffs the takedown.
jenkin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
jenkin lands a decent elbow from side control.

Souza seems a little lost for a moment, as jenkin dominates the positioning.
jenkin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no jenkin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

jenkin is taking a breather. Souza says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

jenkin is trying to control. Souza wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Souza moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
jenkin wants to control from the top but Souza keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Souza has a closed guard, preventing jenkin from standing up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A left and a right from Souza both land. Nice combination.
Souza misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and jenkin counters with a takedown into side control.
jenkin stands up and beckons Souza to his feet.

jenkin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Souza smiles and moves away.
Souza throws a sloppy head kick and jenkin moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
scot jenkin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

jenkin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

jenkin is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
