Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Gabriel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bo Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails with a takedown attempt.
Gabriel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jackson.

Gabriel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jackson is trying to defend but Gabriel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jackson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jackson looks gassed!

Gabriel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Gabriel eventually gives up the hold.
Jackson wants to get back to full guard.
Gabriel wants to pass the guard but Jackson is defending well.
Gabriel seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Gabriel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jackson for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gabriel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gabriel looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Gabriel is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gabriel with the ground and pound but Jackson uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Gabriel slips nicely into half guard.
Gabriel working the head and body with strikes.
Gabriel lands with a punch from half guard.
Gabriel trying to mount his opponent but Jackson defends it.
Gabriel wants to get back to his feet.

Gabriel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Gabriel thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
Jackson is pressing down on Gabriel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
It looks like Jackson is going to stand back up.

Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but Gabriel defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gabriel tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gabriel wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Jackson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gabriel!
Gabriel is looking to improve his position but Jackson isn't that keen on the idea.
Jackson avoids the attempt from Gabriel to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jackson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gabriel because Jackson loaded up on that one.

Gabriel keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gabriel is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jackson gets his way!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gabriel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jackson tries to clinch but Gabriel moves out of range.

Gabriel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gabriel wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gabriel pulls his head out easily.

Jackson regains full guard. Nicely done.

Bo Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Jackson manages to get to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Gabriel holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

A short body shot lands from Gabriel as the two fighters clinch.

Matt Gabriel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bo Jackson.
Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gabriel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gabriel tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage.

Gabriel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gabriel is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well.

Jackson wants to pass the guard but Gabriel is defending well.
Jackson wants to control but Gabriel is keeping him busy.
Jackson is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Gabriel reverses the position - he's now on top in Jackson's guard.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Gabriel from controlling successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gabriel wants to stand but Jackson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Matt Gabriel showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Gabriel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
