The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Carr. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Carr.
Wang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Wang pushes Carr up against the cage in a clinch.

Carr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wang shoots in looking for a takedown. Carr tries to sprawl out of it but Wang keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wang looks gassed!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carr throws a nice looking combination but Wang bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wang shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carr pinned against the cage. Carr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ryan Wang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carr leaves Wang with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carr goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Carr feints and then cracks Wang's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wang down.
Wang takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wang takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Ryan Wang has been cut.

Carr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wang's guard.
Carr slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wang seems a little lost for a moment, as Carr dominates the positioning.

Carr decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wang to his feet.
Wang tries to move into range but Carr moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Carr lands a head kick. Wang smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Carr bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Wang takes a kick to the side of the head.
Carr throws a nice outside leg kick.

Carr throws a right and a left that Wang avoids nicely.
Carr scores with a nice strike.
Carr throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Carr ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Wang takes a jab right on the kisser.
Carr lands a jab-cross combination.
Carr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carr lands in his opponent's guard.
Carr wants to pass the guard but Wang is keeping the position.

and Carr counters with a left and a right that stings Wang.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Carr, right into the meat.
Carr throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Wang stumbling backwards into the cage! Wang bounces back off the cage towards Carr, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Carr lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Carr celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
