Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rousimar Palahares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rousimar Palahares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Alves!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palahares blocks a head kick by Alves.

Alves shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Palahares manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Alves postures up.
Palahares wants to sweep here but Alves controlling him for the moment.
Alves is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Palahares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Palahares is wriggling around but Alves manages to pass to half guard.

Alves seems to be working for a kimura but Palahares defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Alves wants to free his trapped foot but Palahares is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Palahares drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Alves gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Palahares pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Palahares striking off his back but it's not causing Alves any problems.

Palahares manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alves manages to get himself to full guard.

Rousimar Palahares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Alves.

Palahares is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Alves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Palahares does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
