Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stan Best! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Igor Santana! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santana shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Best manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Best preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Best wants to stand up but Santana is controlling him. Best kicks Santana off and gets to his feet. Santana tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Best swivels and escapes. Best tries to clinch there but Santana circles away.
No joy there for Best, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Santana ducks under a wild hook from Best. Best scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Santana shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Santana lands a couple of digs. Santana has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Santana keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Best's head. Santana trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Santana stands up over Best, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Best is breathing heavily. Santana thows a big elbow that misses. Santana missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Santana in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Santana won't allow Best to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Santana closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Best to the mat! Best manages to get full guard. Santana postures up in Best's guard and throws a big left but Best blocks it. Santana stops Best from standing up. Best knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santana on the ground. Best has momentary wrist control but Santana slips an elbow through the middle. Santana lands a couple of decent looking shots. Best is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Santana lands a couple of decent looking shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santana stands up over Best, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Santana works over Best with some ground and pound from guard. Santana working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Santana postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Best utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Santana is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Best is looking to stand up but Santana isn't so interested in that idea. Santana makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Best kicks Santana off and gets to his feet. Santana tries for a takedown but Best sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's going to take a lot out of Igor Santana. Best fails in his attempt to clinch. Best stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Best wants it to stay on the feet. Santana moves out of range of the leg kick from Best. Best throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santana. Santana throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Best's waist but Best gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santana off to one side. Nice sprawl there from Best as Santana shoots in. Santana changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Best tries to avoid it but Santana manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Best to the ground. Best escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Best fails with a takedown attempt. Santana shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Santana passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Best! Santana lands a big elbow. Santana landing shots from mount. A nice elbow there by Santana. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Igor Santana dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Santana gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Best lands a shot to the body. Best is trying to drag Santana to the mat but Santana just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Best has Santana pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Santana manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Santana stalling in the clinch but Best improves position. Santana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santana doesn't succeed with the takedown and Best holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Santana is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Santana taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Igor Santana. Santana looks for a takedown but Best sprawls well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Santana tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Best paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Best misses with a head kick.
Santana feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Santana distracts Best with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Best wants to stand but Santana is controlling the position. Santana postures up in Best's guard and throws a big left but Best blocks it. Santana is in close to Best's body, working some short punches and elbows. Best kicks Santana off and gets to his feet. Best forces Santana back against the cage and clinches. Best wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Santana has him pressed against the cage. Santana slowing the pace effectively.

Santana drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Igor Santana has got the better of the ground game so far. Santana keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Best's head. Best is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Santana lands a couple of digs. Santana won't allow Best to get back to his feet. Santana distracts Best with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Santana prevents Best from getting back to his feet. Best is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Santana seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks. Best tries to pull guard but Santana holds him up against the cage and eventually Best drops back down to his feet.

Santana won't be happy with that. Santana pushes Best away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Best gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Best stands up and beckons Santana to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Best tries to clinch up and Santana counters with a shoot takedown. Best fights it but they end up in guard. Santana missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Best is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Santana is controlling him. Santana throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Best wants to stand up but Santana is controlling him. Santana working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Best's head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Best kicks Santana off and gets to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Best misses the jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Stan Best will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Best gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Santana counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Best pushes Santana off looking to stand but Santana dives back in and keeps control.
Santana has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Santana looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Santana with shots to the head and body - Best looks very uncomfortable down there. Santana scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Best?
Best somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Best fails with the takedown and Santana counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Best's guard now. Santana prevents Best from getting back to his feet. Santana landing with the ground and pound. Best wants to stand but Santana is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santana with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Santana lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Santana fails to land the takedown. Santana has his takedown stuffed and Best counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Best throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Santana counters with a nice double leg into guard. Best is looking to stand up but Santana isn't so interested in that idea. Best preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Santana throws and elbow that misses. Best uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Santana's guard. Nice move by Best!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santana wants to sweep here but Best controlling him for the moment. Santana wants to stand but Best is controlling the position. Best trying to control but Santana is working from the bottom. Santana manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Best manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Santana is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Best is looking to stand up but Santana isn't so interested in that idea.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Best throws an overhand right that lands on Santana's shoulder, as Santana tries to avoid the shot. Santana shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Best is trying to defend but Santana finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Best is trying to stand.
And that's the end of the fight! Igor Santana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Santana has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
