1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kristofer Burdis! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burdis. Donnelly with a poor takedown and Burdis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Burdis. Donnelly pulls guard. Donnelly keeping moving, preventing Burdis from controlling successfully. Burdis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Donnelly. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Donnelly working a defensive guard here.
Burdis trying to control but Donnelly is working from the bottom. Burdis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Donnelly had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Burdis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Donnelly Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Burdis's back instead. Burdis controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Donnelly is persistently looking for the submission but Burdis is defending it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. I really don't envy Burdis right now.
Burdis trying to control the position but Donnelly manages to sink in the hooks. Burdis is in bad spot here.
Burdis staying busy and making it hard for Donnelly to control. Donnelly scores with punches to the body. Burdis defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Donnelly has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Burdis is defending well but eventually Donnelly manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Burdis has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
