Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damien Paine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragnar Danneskjold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danneskjold has chosen Bang Your Head by Quiet Riot as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paine fails to land with a series of punches.
Danneskjold is looking to clinch but Paine is avoiding it.
Paine scores with a decent looking hook.
It looks like Ragnar Danneskjold has been cut. Danneskjold fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Paine avoids it really well and circles away. Danneskjold shoots in for a takedown but Paine shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Paine getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Danneskjold attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Paine lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Danneskjold tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paine swats him away and circles back towards the center. Damien Paine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paine misses with a few strikes there.
Paine smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Danneskjold bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Danneskjold tries to advance to mount but can't. Danneskjold is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Paine has escaped the position, nice work there. Danneskjold is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paine knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Danneskjold misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danneskjold throws a strike aimed at the side of Paine's head but Paine avoids it well. Danneskjold misses with the ground and pound. Paine is not content to let Danneskjold control the position. The strikes coming from Danneskjold are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Danneskjold uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Paine.
Paine lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Danneskjold was well out of range. Poor timing from Paine. Paine cracks a nice hook into Danneskjold's ribs. Danneskjold will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Paine counters with a left and a right that stings Danneskjold. Danneskjold looks gassed! Paine throws a hook but Danneskjold blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paine connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Danneskjold tumbling to the canvas! Paine pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Danneskjold was done - good stoppage!
