PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Last Chance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Last Chance is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Last Chance!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chance shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chance showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior is trying to maintain the position but Chance is very close to passing his half guard.
Warrior wants to improve his position but Chance is controlling well.
Warrior keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Warrior trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Warrior kicks off Chance and gets to his feet.
Chance shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Warrior as he avoids it easily.

Warrior has Chance up against the cage in a clinch.

Warrior gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chance regains guard.
Warrior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chance swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Warrior won't allow Chance to sweep him here.

Chance working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warrior doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warrior manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Warrior tries to free his leg and advance position but Chance is retaining full guard.
Warrior has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Warrior throws and elbow that misses. Chance uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Warrior's guard. Nice move by Chance!
Warrior looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Chance decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Chance shoots in looking for a takedown. Warrior tries to sprawl out of it but Chance keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Warrior manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Chance.
Ultimate Warrior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Last Chance.
Chance looks gassed!

Warrior has Chance up against the cage in a clinch.
Warrior slows down the pace here.
Warrior seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Warrior for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Warrior lands a right hand.
Chance fails to pull guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Warrior breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chance tries to score a power double leg takedown but Warrior sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chance somewhat.
Chance moves out of range as Warrior throws a body kick.
Chance shoots in for a takedown but Warrior shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Warrior scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Warrior is trying to get an arm triangle but Chance is defending well.
Warrior tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Chance manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ultimate Warrior dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Chance shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chance was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Warrior looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Chance working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Chance working for the choke.
Warrior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chance on the ground.
Chance is breathing heavily.
Chance keeps control of the position as Warrior tries to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chance punches the canvas rather than the man.
Chance is hanging on to Warrior's back as he tries to escape.
Warrior controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Chance looking to break Warrior's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Warrior remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Chance will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Chance working for the choke.
Chance is hanging on to Warrior's back as he tries to escape.

Chance looking to break Warrior's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Warrior remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Chance will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Warrior manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Chance is now in side control.
Warrior is looking for a sweep.
Warrior regains half guard.
Chance trying to pass the guard but Warrior defending well.
Chance prevents Warrior from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chance tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Warrior is looking to improve his position.
Chance passes the guard and advances to mount!

Chance goes for an armbar but Warrior turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Warrior.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Last Chance showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Warrior takes the fight into the clinch.
Chance tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Warrior smiles and moves away.
Chance with a poor takedown

and Warrior counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chance won't be happy with that.
Warrior in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Warrior tries to advance position but instead Chance slips a leg back in to half guard.
Chance takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chance is not content to let Warrior control the position.
Chance is looking to escape.
Chance is looking for a sweep. Warrior is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Chance tries to kick Warrior off but Warrior keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Chance actively working from the bottom here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Warrior is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chance is just riding it out for now. Warrior eventually gives up the hold.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Warrior gets a clinch.

Warrior gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chance regains guard.

Warrior got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chance has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Warrior has managed to get both his arms back between Chance's legs - danger averted.
Warrior trying to control the position from guard on top but Chance is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chance isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Warrior stacks Chance on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Warrior!
Warrior is looking to take a break and control but Chance is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Warrior cracks Chance with a big elbow.
Warrior wants to control but Chance is keeping him busy.
Warrior is really struggling to control Chance but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Warrior throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ultimate Warrior showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Warrior has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
