Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Dee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutus Barrington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Dee has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Dee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Brutus Barrington!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dee uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barrington.
Dee slaps away a takedown attempt from Barrington, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Barrington or perhaps it was just good defense by Dee which made him look bad.
Barrington looks gassed!

Dee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Dee is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Dee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dee feints and as Barrington raises his hands in defense, Dee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Barrington has his takedown stuffed

and Dee counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barrington's guard now.

Dee is in close to Barrington's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Barrington can do to turn this around?

Barrington is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dee is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Barrington to the mat. Barrington regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Dee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barrington is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dee is looking to take a break and control but Barrington is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barrington tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Dee counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Barrington!

Barrington's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
