Goddard drives through with a takedown into guard.

Goddard has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Masterson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Goddard.

Masterson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Goddard had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Masterson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Goddard Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Masterson's back instead.
