Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Banner Cobalt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Squirmy McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Banner Cobalt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Squirmy McGee! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Squirmy McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from McGee finds it's way through Cobalt's defenses. McGee missing with a left hand there. Cobalt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. McGee throws a right and a left that Cobalt avoids nicely. Horrible takedown by Cobalt or perhaps it was just good defense by McGee which made him look bad. Cobalt throws a lazy right hand but McGee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jab by McGee. McGee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McGee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGee pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

That's one minute gone in the round. McGee working the ground and pound effectively.
McGee misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Cobalt avoids a series of strikes thrown by McGee.
McGee moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cobalt has worked his arm free - good work by Cobalt!
McGee looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cobalt is avoiding damage well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cobalt has escaped the position, nice work there. McGee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. McGee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cobalt has escaped the position, nice work there. Cobalt sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cobalt keeps working. McGee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cobalt is just riding it out for now. McGee eventually gives up the hold. Cobalt on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cobalt tries to get out of the position. McGee not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McGee is trying to work for a kimura but Cobalt is defending well.
McGee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cobalt's head. McGee trying to control the action but Cobalt is working from the bottom. McGee is taking a breather. Cobalt says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Squirmy McGee dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Cobalt misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McGee misses with the combination.
McGee stuffs the takedown. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McGee.
McGee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cobalt but Cobalt pushes him off and we're back to square one. A good leg kick by McGee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGee moves out of range of the strikes. McGee looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cobalt misses with an uppercut. McGee saw that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good leg kick by McGee there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McGee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. McGee slows the pace down in half guard. McGee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cobalt defends it well. Cobalt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McGee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cobalt's head. Cobalt is not content to let McGee control the position. McGee wants to pass the guard but Cobalt is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cobalt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McGee throws a low kick but it's checked well by Cobalt. Cobalt swinging wilding here.
McGee scores with the left hand. Cobalt knows he should have avoided that one. The fight stays on the outside here - McGee looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cobalt closes the distance and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cobalt looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. McGee unloads a knee to the mid-section. McGee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cobalt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McGee moves away. Banner Cobalt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McGee tries for a takedown but Cobalt circles away easily and Cobalt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McGee's guard now. Cobalt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGee on the ground. McGee has control of Cobalt's left arm, preventing Cobalt from doing any damage. McGee has momentary wrist control but Cobalt slips an elbow through the middle. McGee is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! McGee looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cobalt wanted to stand there but McGee had control of the position. McGee is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Cobalt frees his head nicely. Oh but McGee has switched to an armbar! Cobalt is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
