Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and quintan jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has jackson pinned against the cage. jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Connor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
jackson is trying to control Connor's posture but Connor avoids it.
jackson is looking for a sweep.
jackson can't do much from the bottom here.
jackson tries to buck Connor off but Connor is having none of it.
jackson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

jackson feints and as Connor raises his hands in defense, jackson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Connor throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

jackson distracts Connor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Connor is on top in guard.

jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Connor defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
jackson looks gassed!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Connor's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Connor passes jackson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
It looks like Connor is going to stand back up.

jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Connor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Connor lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Connor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for jackson on the ground.

Connor drops back looking for a leg! jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and jackson manages to kick Connor off! Connor jumps back into jackson's guard.

jackson is looking for a triangle but Connor pushes his legs off easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Connor stands up over jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Connor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Connor manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
jackson wants to control from the top but Connor keeps moving.
jackson postures up in Connor's guard and throws a big left but Connor blocks it.
Connor throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Connor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
jackson is working Connor over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rick Connor will probably get the nod.

jackson drops back looking for a leg! Connor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Connor manages to kick jackson off! jackson jumps back into Connor's guard.

Connor uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Connor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

jackson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Connor has his hands clasped together but jackson extends an breaks Connor's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by jackson.
