Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Khadir Hadji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Khadir Hadji has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Khadir Hadji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Gibbs!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hadji tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gibbs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hadji somewhat.
Hadji throws a sloppy head kick and Gibbs moves out of range easily.
Gibbs misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hadji pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hadji wants to clinch.

Hadji is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gibbs's half guard.
Hadji trying to control the action but Gibbs is working from the bottom.
Gibbs keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Hadji uses his free foot to push down on Gibbs's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gibbs.
Hadji can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gibbs is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gibbs can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gibbs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Gibbs is just holding on here. Hadji manages to take his back.
Gibbs tries to escape but Hadji has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Khadir Hadji just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Hadji tries to close the distance and clinch but Gibbs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gibbs looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gibbs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Hadji is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gibbs wanted to stand there but Hadji had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gibbs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hadji wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Gibbs looks up at the clock and then as Hadji takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gibbs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hadji is not content to let Gibbs control the position.

Gibbs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hadji, who protects the arm well.

A close round but Dave Gibbs will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gibbs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gibbs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hadji defends it well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Hadji makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gibbs really felt that one!

Gibbs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gibbs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gibbs decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hadji, up you get!

Gibbs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gibbs wants to control from the top but Hadji keeps moving.
Gibbs tries to free his leg and advance position but Hadji is retaining full guard.
Hadji lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gibbs!
Hadji wants to control the pace but Gibbs is squirming around nicely.

Hadji gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Hadji misses with a two punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Gibbs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Hadji makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hadji.

Hadji has momentary wrist control but Gibbs slips an elbow through the middle.
Hadji manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gibbs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hadji cracks Gibbs with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gibbs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hadji wants to control the pace but Gibbs is squirming around nicely.
Hadji with shots to the head and body - Gibbs looks very uncomfortable down there.

Hadji has hold of Gibbs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gibbs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gibbs is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hadji is looking to stand but Hadji has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Gibbs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hadji. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gibbs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hadji controlling the pace for now.
Gibbs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hadji is looking to stand but Hadji has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Hadji prevents Gibbs from getting the reversal.

Hadji stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Gibbs trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hadji is trying to stand.

Hadji is desperately trying to improve his position but Gibbs has a good base and remains in mount.
Gibbs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hadji keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hadji wants to hold on but Gibbs pushes him away.
Hadji is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Dave Gibbs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gibbs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
