Bailey Hendricks struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Felix Ruiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendricks connects with a right hand. Ruiz shakes it off.
Ruiz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hendricks paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ruiz avoids the body shot from Hendricks.
Ruiz stuns Hendricks with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ruiz shoots in looking for a takedown. Hendricks tries to sprawl out of it but Ruiz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hendricks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hendricks clobbers Ruiz with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hendricks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hendricks wants it to stay on the feet.

Ruiz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hendricks circles away quickly and effectively.
Ruiz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hendricks is fending him off so far but Ruiz persists. Nope, Hendricks circles away and we're back to standing.
Bailey Hendricks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ruiz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ruiz. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Ruiz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hendricks's waist but Hendricks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ruiz off to one side.
Hendricks misses with a combination
and Ruiz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hendricks is leaning against Ruiz and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Hendricks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hendricks drops Ruiz with a beautiful combination! Ruiz stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hendricks is looking for the KO!
Oh Ruiz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hendricks closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Ruiz! Hendricks dives in looking to finish! Ruiz is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bailey Hendricks!
