Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Renton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renton comes into the arena with A Small Victory blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Renton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Ryan! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Renton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ryan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Renton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Renton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Renton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Oooh a lovely combination from Renton sends Ryan down but not out. Renton dives into side control looking to finish. Ryan sneaks back into half guard. Renton trying to control the action but Ryan is working from the bottom. Ryan misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Renton trying to control from half guard but Ryan is working away. Renton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ryan defends it well. Ryan tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Renton is tying to control. Ryan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ryan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Renton misses with a few strikes there.
A nice leg kick lands there from Renton. Renton walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ryan. Renton swings for the body but Ryan moves out of range.
Renton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mark Renton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Renton is breathing heavily. Renton misses with a takedown and Ryan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Renton can't keep his opponent in guard - Ryan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ryan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Ryan wants to take a breather but Renton is having none of it. Ryan prevents Renton from improving his position. Ryan lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Renton taking some punishment here, with Ryan in his half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Renton on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Renton is looking to improve his position.
Ryan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Renton actively working from the bottom here. Renton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Renton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Renton working a defensive guard here.
Renton manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Renton is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ryan is surviving well by controlling Renton's body position as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Renton connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Renton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Renton is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ryan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Renton prevents Ryan from getting the reversal. Ryan sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Ryan is controlling Renton's trapped leg to prevent Renton from advancing to side control. Ryan is looking to improve his position.
Ryan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Renton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryan is staying active underneath Renton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Renton has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ryan is controlling an arm, preventing Renton from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Ryan tries to improve his position but Renton has taken his back! Renton has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Ryan tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Renton pushes Ryan away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
