Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Tyler!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Edwards circles away from the clinch attempt.

Tyler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tyler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Edwards is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Tyler controlling from mount.
Tyler cracks Edwards with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tyler tries to control but Edwards wriggling away.

Edwards tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Edwards is working hard here to advance position.
Tyler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Edwards is squirming around, avoiding Tyler's attempts to control the action.
Tyler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tyler closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tyler lands in his opponent's guard.
Edwards is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Edwards is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tyler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Tyler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tyler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tyler looks gassed!

Tyler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Edwards wants to get back to his feet but Tyler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Edwards not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Edwards wants to sweep here but Tyler controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Edwards fails with the takedown

and Tyler counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Edwards throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Tyler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Edwards has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tyler has managed to get both his arms back between Edwards's legs - danger averted.
Tyler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Edwards works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Tyler counters with a shoot takedown. Edwards fights it but they end up in guard.

Tyler thows a huge punch but Edwards dodges it nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Edwards misses with a takedown attempt - Tyler sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Edwards wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Tyler manages to pass to side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Edwards is trying to stand back up but Tyler is controlling him

Edwards looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edwards tries to get to full guard but Tyler has control of the leg.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tyler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Edwards as he jumps to the side.

Jake Tyler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tyler wants to stand and escape but Edwards is having none of it.
Edwards wants to control from the top but Tyler keeps moving.
Edwards has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Edwards pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tyler tries to move into range but Edwards moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Edwards throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Edwards is looking to chop away at Tyler's legs.

Edwards tries a head kick but it misses.
Edwards wants to clinch

and Tyler counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Edwards's guard now.

Jake Tyler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tyler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
