Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Svetserson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gary Larson! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svetserson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Larson but Larson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Larson tries to clinch up but Svetserson circles away and keeps his distance. Larson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Svetserson sprawls well. Svetserson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Larson gets slowly back to his feet. Svetserson lands a high kick!
Larson tries for a takedown but Svetserson circles away easily and Svetserson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Larson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Svetserson preventing the sweep. Larson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Larson wants to stand up but Svetserson is controlling him. Larson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Svetserson landing with the ground and pound. Svetserson drops back looking for a leg! Larson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Larson manages to kick Svetserson off! Svetserson jumps back into Larson's guard. Svetserson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Svetserson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Larson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Larson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Svetserson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Svetserson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Larson looks gassed! Svetserson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Larson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Svetserson has managed to get both his arms back between Larson's legs - danger averted. Svetserson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Svetserson trying to control but Larson is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Larson wants to clinch. Larson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Anderson Svetserson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Larson. Svetserson drives through and clinches with Larson against the cage.

Svetserson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Larson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Svetserson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Larson. You can see the frustration on Larson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Svetserson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Larson is not content to let Svetserson control the position. Svetserson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Larson to see if he's OK. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Svetserson shoots in and drives through. Larson sprawls well. Svetserson tries to clinch up. Nice sprawl there from Svetserson as Larson shoots in. Svetserson lands with a slapping head kick. Svetserson gets a clinch. Larson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Svetserson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Svetserson moves into range and clinches up with Larson. Svetserson pulls guard. Larson stopping the sweep attempt from Svetserson. Larson wants to get up but he can't break Svetserson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Svetserson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Larson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Svetserson dives on top into guard. Svetserson content to stall in guard here. Larson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Svetserson is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Svetserson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Svetserson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Svetserson has Larson up against the cage in a clinch.

No luck for Svetserson with that takedown attempt. Svetserson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Larson slaps away a takedown attempt from Svetserson, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Svetserson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svetserson darts in and clinches Larson up against the cage. Larson is trying to break the clinch but Svetserson has him pressed against the cage. Larson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Svetserson just stands there and leans against the cage. Svetserson jumps guard.
Larson wants to control from the top but Svetserson keeps moving. Svetserson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Svetserson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Larson controls the pace. Svetserson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Anderson Svetserson dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Svetserson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Larson as he avoids it easily. Larson tries to keep at a distance but Svetserson has taken the fight into the clinch. Larson is looking to control Svetserson's arms but Svetserson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Larson has his back to the cage. Svetserson taking a breather. Larson tries to circle away but Svetserson has him pinned against the cage. Svetserson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Svetserson jumps guard and drags Larson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Larson postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Svetserson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Larson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Larson postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Larson walks forward, straight into a front kick from Svetserson. A head kick from Svetserson lands but Larson takes it in his stride. Svetserson pushes Larson up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Svetserson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Svetserson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Svetserson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Larson is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Svetserson has taken his back! Svetserson looking to break Larson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Larson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Svetserson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Larson wants to get back to his feet. Svetserson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Svetserson avoiding Larson 's attempts to control his hands. Larson is keeping busy.
Gary Larson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Anderson Svetserson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Larson tries to escape but Svetserson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Anderson Svetserson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Svetserson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today.
