And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blunt tries to bum rush Martin with a series of wild strikes but Martin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blunt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Martin doesn't manage to clinch there - Blunt circles away.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blunt as he jumps to the side.
Blunt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Martin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Blunt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Blunt. Martin shrugs it off though.
Blunt connects with a high kick.


It looks like James Martin has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Martin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Blunt tries to buck Martin off but Martin is having none of it.
Blunt regains half guard, as Martin was trying to land strikes.

Martin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blunt sees it coming and defends easily.

Blunt is trying to maintain the position but Martin is very close to passing his half guard.

Martin is keen to just control but Blunt is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Blunt throws a right and a left that both miss.

Blunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Martin.

Martin has picked Blunt up - he's going for a ride! Martin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Blunt is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Martin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Martin's back!

Blunt patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Martin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Blunt is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Martin has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Blunt has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Martin taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Blunt doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bob Blunt!
