The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Venom is defended easily by Kotaro.
Nice sprawl there from Kotaro as Venom shoots in.
Venom drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Venom tries for a kimura but Kotaro is defending well.
Kotaro is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kotaro wants to control but Venom postures up.

Venom wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kotaro keeps working.

Kotaro swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Venom is now in Kotaro's guard. A big mistake from Kotaro there, giving up the dominant position!

Venom is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kotaro knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fuma Kotaro dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kotaro has an Americana. Venom didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kotaro is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kotaro hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
