Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bryan Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Heath Stanson! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Stanson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Baker scores with a takedown into Stanson's guard. Stanson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Stanson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baker's back instead. Stanson throwing sloppy strikes. Baker has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Stanson. Stanson has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Baker tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Baker tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stanson looking to ground and pound but Baker is blocking nicely. Baker blocking the ground and pound. Baker is trying desperately to improve position. Stanson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stanson throwing strikes here but Baker is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Baker wants to control but Stanson is having none of it. Stanson thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Baker tries to lock up and control but Stanson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Baker regains half guard. Baker desperately trying to maintain half guard. Stanson seems to be working for a kimura but Baker defends the submission attempt. Baker is refusing to be controlled, as Stanson sits in half guard. Baker moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Baker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stanson is fighting to break Baker's control of his arms but Baker is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Stanson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Baker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Baker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stanson's guard. Stanson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Baker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Baker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stanson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Baker drops back looking for a leg! Stanson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stanson manages to kick Baker off! Baker jumps back into Stanson's guard. Stanson is trying to keep Baker in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Baker trying to control but Stanson is working from the bottom. Stanson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Baker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Baker prevents Stanson from improving his position. Baker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stanson defends it well. Stanson is trying to control but can't.
Baker is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Baker moves to the back. Baker lands shots from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker missing with strikes. Stanson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. You can see the frustration on Stanson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Stanson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Baker has got one arm under Stanson's chin. This could be trouble... Stanson trying to control the other hand but Baker gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Stanson has tapped out! The fight is over!
