The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Martins's calf.
Martins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marcus is fending him off so far but Martins persists. Nope, Marcus circles away and we're back to standing.
Martins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Martins lands with a slapping head kick.
Johnny Martins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Martins dives in and grabs Marcus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marcus pushes down on Martins's head and hops out.

Martins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marcus's waist but Marcus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martins off to one side.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marcus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Marcus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Martins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Marcus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Martins shoots in and drives through. Marcus sprawls well.
Martins takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No luck for Martins with that takedown attempt.

Marcus throws a leg kick which misses Martins's front leg but catches the back leg as Martins tries to avoid it.
Marcus connects with a solid leg kick.
Marcus works over Martins's head and body with a nice combination.
A chopping leg kick lands by Marcus.
A jab from Marcus does it's job there.

Marcus lands a left and a right that send Martins crashing to the mat, dazed. Marcus thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Martins is rocked!
Marcus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Marcus avoids the head kick by Martins.
Marcus connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Martins! He's out on his feet! Marcus rushes in and drops Martins with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
