The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a head kick.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Machine is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Machine circles away and we're back to standing.

Machine clinches up against the cage.
Jackson is looking to control Machine's arms but Machine gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jackson has his back to the cage.

Jackson pulls guard effortlessly.
Machine wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Machine trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Machine looking to sit in guard and control but Jackson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Machine tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Machine is breathing heavily.
Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Machine counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.

Jackson is letting Machine control him for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machine is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jackson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jackson is trying to control Machine's posture but Machine avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Machine is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kiko Machine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson throws a head kick but Machine moves out of range.

Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Machine pushes Jackson off and gets back to his feet.
Jackson closes the distance but Machine moves to the side

and Machine counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.
Machine laying and praying for a moment but Jackson takes advantage and regains half guard.
Machine is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Machine is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Jackson manages to get to full guard.
Machine won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet.

Jackson controls Machine momentarily but Machine frees himself.
