Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bepo Kroner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bepo Kroner! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Carpenter as Kroner shoots in. Carpenter looks to land a combination. Kroner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Kroner gets a takedown into half guard. Carpenter wants to control but Kroner is keeping busy and won't allow it. Carpenter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carpenter. Carpenter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kroner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kroner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kroner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carpenter swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carpenter wants to sweep here but Kroner controlling him for the moment. Kroner wants to pass the guard but Carpenter is keeping the position. Kroner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kroner trying to control the position but Carpenter is working away. Kroner tries to advance to mount but Carpenter denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kroner advances nicely into full mount. Carpenter tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kroner fails to take his opponent's back. Carpenter is in all sorts of trouble here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carpenter is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carpenter regains half guard. Kroner is trying to work for a kimura but Carpenter is defending well.
Kroner looks gassed! Carpenter gets full guard. Kroner pushes down on Carpenter's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kroner is working for a kimura but Carpenter is defending it quite comfortably.
Carpenter tries to roll over but Kroner keeps him under control.

Carpenter is looking to control Kroner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carpenter avoid being mounted? Kroner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kroner wants to take a breather but Carpenter is having none of it. Kroner is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Carpenter has managed to free his arm - good work. Carpenter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kroner works his way into full mount! Kroner looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Kroner with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Carpenter is looking to get to half guard. Kroner forces the positional change into back control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kroner is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Carpenter has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kroner has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Carpenter taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kroner doesn't care though - he's delighted!
