Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koscheck stuffs the takedown attempt from pablo. pablo gets slowly back to his feet.
pablo moves into the clinch.
pablo tries to pull guard but Koscheck holds him up against the cage and eventually pablo drops back down to his feet.
Koscheck lands a hook to the side of the head.
Koscheck avoiding damage.
Koscheck breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Koscheck stalks pablo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into pablo's face. pablo staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like pete pablo has been cut.
Josh Koscheck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
pablo feints and as Koscheck raises his hands in defense, pablo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
pablo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Koscheck is proving hard to escape from.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Koscheck can do anything to dispel that myth.

pablo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Koscheck's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

pablo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Koscheck sees it coming and defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
pablo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Koscheck works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
