The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrosyan is looking to clinch.

Sykes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Petrosyan sprawls well. Petrosyan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sykes gets slowly back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sykes closes the distance and clinches up with Petrosyan, looking for a takedown. Sykes pushes Petrosyan against the cage but Petrosyan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sykes fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Petrosyan is out of range.
Petrosyan throws out a loose jab but Sykes uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sykes gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Sykes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Petrosyan but Petrosyan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sykes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petrosyan's waist but Petrosyan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sykes off to one side.
Sykes moves away from the strike by Petrosyan.
Sykes fails to land the takedown.
