PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Ray Kshymensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kshymensky's entrance music is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVA-xTBeHyM. A fine choice. Hogan has chosen The real American as his entrance music. Kshymensky is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. The key to victory for Jesse Ray Kshymensky has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Ray Kshymensky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kshymensky steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hogan.
Kshymensky is breathing heavily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kshymensky lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hogan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hogan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Hogan rushes Kshymensky and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hogan manages to break the clinch.
Kshymensky tries to clinch but Hogan moves away

and Hogan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kshymensky's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hogan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hogan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hogan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hogan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hogan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Hogan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hogan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hulk Hogan just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kshymensky gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hogan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hogan pushing down on Kshymensky's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Hogan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hogan with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hogan uses his free foot to push down on Kshymensky's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kshymensky.
Kshymensky trying desperately to get to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hogan throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Hogan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hogan punching from mount but Kshymensky doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Kshymensky could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hogan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Hogan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Hogan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hogan is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kshymensky's shoulder. That is not cool.
Kshymensky defending against the ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kshymensky is being controlled here.

Hogan working the ground and pound but Kshymensky is defending the strikes.
Hogan misses with the ground and pound.
Hogan scores with a couple of short elbows.
Hogan controlling the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hogan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kshymensky is trying to defend but Hogan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Hogan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hogan is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kshymensky looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hogan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Kshymensky won't allow Hogan to pass to mount.

Hogan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kshymensky sees it coming and defends easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hogan controlling the action here.
Hogan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hogan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kshymensky's head.

Hogan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kshymensky defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kshymensky throws a looping overhand right but Hogan ducks down to avoid it.

Hogan scores with a takedown into Kshymensky's guard.
Hogan pushes down on Kshymensky's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hogan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hogan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kshymensky knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kshymensky tries to kick Hogan off but Hogan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hogan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kshymensky!
Kshymensky is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Hogan has taken his back!
Hogan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kshymensky is trying to defend against the choke here but Hogan has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Hogan Tightens the hold and Kshymensky taps out furiously! Hogan displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hulk Hogan!
