Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mellon misses with a body kick.
Gomez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mellon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nick Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

You can see the frustration on Gomez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gomez is bucking up trying to escape but Mellon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Mellon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mellon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gomez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mellon is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Gomez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Gomez!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
