Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aras Szlesz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Holtra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holtra has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aras Szlesz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thiago Holtra! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy left from Szlesz finds it's target. Holtra blocks a head kick by Szlesz.
Szlesz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Holtra as he avoids it easily. Szlesz moves into the clinch. Szlesz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Holtra moves into the clinch. Szlesz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Szlesz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Holtra on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Holtra looks gassed! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Holtra displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Szlesz throws out the jab. Szlesz closes the distance and clinches up with Holtra, looking for a takedown. Szlesz pushes Holtra against the cage but Holtra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Szlesz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Holtra wants to clinch up but Szlesz keeps it at a distance. Szlesz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Thiago Holtra has been cut. Holtra leaves Szlesz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aras Szlesz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Szlesz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's one minute gone in the round. Szlesz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Holtra doesn't manage to clinch there - Szlesz circles away.
Thiago Holtra is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Szlesz looks for a takedown but Holtra sprawls well. Szlesz tries to close the distance and clinch but Holtra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Szlesz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Holtra tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Holtra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Szlesz. A combination from Szlesz does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A shot to de liver by Szlesz. Beautiful body shot. Szlesz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Szlesz misses with the combination.

Holtra takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A nice combination there by Szlesz.
Holtra takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Holtra moves forwards but Szlesz connects with a nice, crisp jab. Holtra throws a head kick but Szlesz moves out of range.

Aras Szlesz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szlesz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Holtra looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Szlesz is defended easily by Holtra. Holtra stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Szlesz. A shot to de liver by Szlesz. Beautiful body shot. Horrible takedown by Szlesz or perhaps it was just good defense by Holtra which made him look bad. Holtra stuffs the takedown attempt from Szlesz. Szlesz gets slowly back to his feet. Holtra lands a head kick. Szlesz smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Szlesz throws a leg kick but Holtra checks it. Holtra takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Szlesz is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Szlesz tries a low kick but Holtra avoids it. Szlesz listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Horrible takedown by Szlesz or perhaps it was just good defense by Holtra which made him look bad. Szlesz lands a two punch combo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A combination from Szlesz does no damage. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Szlesz is defended easily by Holtra. Holtra moves out of range as Szlesz strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aras Szlesz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Thiago Holtra's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Holtra displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Aras Szlesz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Szlesz clinches with his opponent.
Holtra tries to land knees in the clinch but Szlesz avoids the damage to the body. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Szlesz. Holtra wants to stall.

Holtra keeps control of Szlesz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Holtra has Szlesz pressed against the cage, preventing Szlesz from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Szlesz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Szlesz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Holtra. Szlesz tries to close the distance and clinch but Holtra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Szlesz throws a shot to the body.

Holtra manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Holtra takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Szlesz shoots in for a takedown but Holtra shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Szlesz throws a combination that misses and Holtra counters by clinching up. Szlesz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Szlesz shoots in but no luck this time.

The fighters circling - Szlesz throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Szlesz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Holtra counters with a slapping leg kick. Aras Szlesz is winning the standup battle so far. Szlesz throws a looping overhand right but Holtra ducks down to avoid it. Szlesz blocks a head kick by Holtra.

Holtra creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Szlesz's defenses. Holtra missing with knees to the body.
Szlesz is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Szlesz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Holtra has him pressed against the cage. Holtra landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Szlesz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Holtra walks away with a smile on his face. Szlesz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aras Szlesz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Szlesz lands a nice looking body shot.

Szlesz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Szlesz tries for a takedown but Holtra circles away easily and Holtra holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Holtra trying to land knees to the body.

Holtra tries to land a sweep but no joy. Holtra is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Szlesz wants to control from the top but Holtra keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szlesz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Szlesz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Holtra wants to sweep but no luck. Holtra tries to strike from the bottom.
Holtra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Szlesz wants to pass the guard but Holtra is keeping the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Szlesz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Szlesz misses with a jab, cross combination.
