Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Calzattrounewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Brone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by FINLANDIA by Jean Sibelius. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brone walks into a stiff left hand from Calzattrounewis.
It looks like Jason Brone has been cut.
Brone takes a swing at Calzattrounewis's ribcage but misses.
Brone slips a straight right by Calzattrounewis.
A leg kick checked by Calzattrounewis.
Brone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Calzattrounewis circles away.
Calzattrounewis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Calzattrounewis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Brone.

and Brone counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Brone counters with a three punch combo that has Calzattrounewis backing up. Calzattrounewis nods at Brone to acknowledge the strikes.
Calzattrounewis is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Brone turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Brone counters with a takedown into side control.
Brone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee asks Brone politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brone prefers to stall for the moment though.

Brone landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Calzattrounewis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Brone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brone postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Calzattrounewis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brone is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Calzattrounewis will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brone connects with a nice short shot to Calzattrounewis's temple.
Brone is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Calzattrounewis is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Brone trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Brone goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Calzattrounewis turns into him and now he's in Brone's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Brone counters with a single leg into guard. Calzattrounewis didn't expect that.

Brone wants to control from the top but Calzattrounewis keeps moving.
Calzattrounewis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Brone drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Brone seems to have locked his on tight now - Calzattrounewis screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Brone, as he picks up the win!
