Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jarkko Kuoppala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarkko Kuoppala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dan Hammer! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Kuoppala. Hammer fails to land the takedown. Hammer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hammer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kuoppala napping and manages to drive through into side control! Hammer is working Kuoppala over with some ground and pound from side control. Hammer working the ground and pound from side control. Hammer is trying to get an arm triangle but Kuoppala is defending well. Kuoppala avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hammer. Hammer throwing shots but missing, from side control. Hammer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kuoppala sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer tries for a kimura but Kuoppala is defending well. Kuoppala wants to control but Hammer postures up. Hammer wants to control but Kuoppala is keeping him busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hammer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kuoppala sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hammer somewhat. Hammer looks gassed! Kuoppala tries to clinch but Hammer is having none of it. Hammer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kuoppala. Hammer misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hammer scores with a three punch combo!

Hammer leaves Kuoppala with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hammer pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kuoppala shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hammer's guard. Kuoppala pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hammer is keeping the position for now. Kuoppala wants to control from the top but Hammer keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuoppala is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hammer keeping moving, preventing Kuoppala from controlling successfully. Hammer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kuoppala slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kuoppala wants to pass the guard but Hammer is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hammer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hammer shoots for a takedown but Kuoppala saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jarkko Kuoppala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Hammer. Kuoppala tries to clinch but Hammer moves out of range. A punch combination from Hammer misses. Kuoppala shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hammer pinned against the cage. Hammer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hammer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kuoppala with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hammer to score with a decent uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Hammer dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kuoppala tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hammer paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kuoppala tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hammer swivels and escapes. Kuoppala wants to clinch up but Hammer keeps it at a distance. Hammer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kuoppala was covering up waiting for the punch and Hammer finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hammer trying to control but Kuoppala is working from the bottom. Hammer drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hammer seems to have locked his on tight now - Kuoppala screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hammer, as he picks up the win!
