Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hammit! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel McIntyre! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammit shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McIntyre is trying to defend but Hammit finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. McIntyre is trying to get back to full guard. McIntyre looks like he's trying to stand up.
McIntyre wants to control but Hammit is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hammit is trying to control. McIntyre wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. McIntyre fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hammit avoids it really well and circles away. Hammit feints and as McIntyre raises his hands in defense, Hammit changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. McIntyre looks gassed! Hammit wants to control from the top but McIntyre keeps moving. Hammit pushes down on McIntyre's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hammit content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Hammit has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammit looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McIntyre with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hammit decides to return to a standing position. McIntyre misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hammit tries to clinch up. Hammit tries to clinch there but McIntyre circles away.
Hammit rushes McIntyre and presses him up against the cage. Hammit keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McIntyre's efforts to push away. McIntyre has Hammit pushed against the cage.

McIntyre goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hammit slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. McIntyre pushes Hammit up against the cage in a clinch. McIntyre goes for a takedown attempt but Hammit pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hammit closes the distance but McIntyre moves to the side and McIntyre counters by clinching up. Hammit prevents McIntyre from breaking the clinch. McIntyre wants to break the clinch but can't.

McIntyre is looking to break free of the clinch but Hammit has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Hammit's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hammit tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hammit decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McIntyre cracks Hammit with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. McIntyre misses with an uppercut. Hammit saw that one coming. A combination from Hammit does no damage. McIntyre fails to land with a series of punches.
Hammit misses with a takedown and McIntyre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammit's guard. McIntyre avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Daniel McIntyre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mark Hammit's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That will dishearten McIntyre somewhat. Hammit tries to clinch up and McIntyre counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hammit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McIntyre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hammit is trying to control the position but McIntyre postures up. McIntyre misses with a takedown attempt and Hammit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McIntyre's guard. Hammit scoring with some ground and pound. McIntyre has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hammit is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McIntyre. McIntyre can't do much from the bottom here. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hammit breaks from McIntyre's wrist control and lands an elbow. McIntyre is trying to escape the mount.

McIntyre has his takedown stuffed and Hammit counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McIntyre's guard now. Hammit showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammit loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Hammit clinches but McIntyre breaks the clinch and McIntyre counters with a one-two to the body. McIntyre closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
