Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Fedorov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fedorov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Emelianenko. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Fedorov lands a glancing blow to the side of Emelianenko's head. Fedorov closes the distance and pushes Emelianenko back into the cage. Emelianenko tries for a takedown but Fedorov manages to get underhooks.
Fedorov breaks from the clinch.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Fedorov tries to sprawl out of it but Emelianenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fedorov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sergei Fedorov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko. Emelianenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Fedorov sprawls well. He's pushed Emelianenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Emelianenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fedorov is fending him off so far but Emelianenko persists. Nope, Fedorov circles away and we're back to standing. Emelianenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fedorov defends it nicely. Emelianenko looks gassed! Fedorov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Emelianenko, pushing him back against the cage. Fedorov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fedorov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fedorov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Fedorov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fedorov clinches. Fedorov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Emelianenko.
The referee calls for Fedorov to work.
Fedorov has clasped his hands together around Emelianenko's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedorov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Fedorov lands a nice forearm strike. Emelianenko taking punishment in the form of punches.
Fedorov lands some shots froms side control. Fedorov stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sergei Fedorov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fedorov gets a clinch. Fedorov jumps guard and drags Emelianenko to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Fedorov has control of Emelianenko's left arm, preventing Emelianenko from doing any damage. Emelianenko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fedorov dives on top into guard. Emelianenko working for submissions but it's allowed Fedorov to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fedorov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fedorov controlling from the full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Emelianenko is bucking up trying to escape but Fedorov cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fedorov gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Emelianenko throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Fedorov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Emelianenko manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fedorov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Emelianenko is trying to keep Fedorov in close.
Fedorov passes into half guard. Fedorov stalling. Emelianenko trying to control but Fedorov postures up.
Fedorov is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fedorov trying to control from half guard but Emelianenko is working away. Fedorov wants to stand but Emelianenko has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Fedorov really is a fat lump. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergei Fedorov dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Fedorov tries to clinch but Emelianenko moves out of range. Emelianenko tries to keep at a distance but Fedorov has taken the fight into the clinch. Emelianenko jumps guard but Fedorov stands there with Emelianenko around his waist. Emelianenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Emelianenko has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Fedorov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Fedorov pulls Emelianenko into guard.
Fedorov controlling the position. Emelianenko trying to control but Fedorov is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fedorov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Emelianenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fedorov is keeping the position for now. Emelianenko won't allow Fedorov to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedorov can't keep his opponent in guard - Emelianenko advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Emelianenko working Fedorov over with strikes. Emelianenko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fedorov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Emelianenko. Fedorov pushes Emelianenko off looking to stand but Emelianenko dives back in and keeps control.
Fedorov wants to control but Emelianenko is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Emelianenko maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fedorov could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Emelianenko has cracked it and Fedorov is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Emelianenko!
