Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Otis Redding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Gonzalez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Otis Redding! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Gonzalez! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redding is looking to clinch but Gonzalez is avoiding it.
Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gonzalez throwing strikes but missing. Gonzalez is stalling in the full guard. Redding avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gonzalez wants to pass the guard but Redding is keeping the position. Gonzalez wants to stand but Redding is controlling his posture from full guard. Gonzalez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Redding, up you get! Gonzalez takes the fight into the clinch. Redding misses with a knee strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez wants to stand but Redding is controlling the position. Gonzalez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gonzalez has a closed guard, preventing Redding from standing up. Gonzalez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Redding can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gonzalez looks gassed! Gonzalez wants to sweep but no luck. Redding won't allow Gonzalez to get back to his feet. Redding is looking to stand up but Gonzalez won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redding trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Redding throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches up with Redding, looking for a takedown. Gonzalez pushes Redding against the cage but Redding circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Otis Redding has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Gonzalez. Redding moves in looking to clinch but Gonzalez pushes him off. Redding misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gonzalez moves into the clinch successfully.
Gonzalez jumps guard.
Gonzalez has his foot on Redding's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redding works his way back into a safe position though. Gonzalez wriggles free and stands up. Gonzalez blocks a head kick by Redding.
Nice combo by Gonzalez! Oh, that's hurt him - Redding falls to the canvas and Gonzalez follows him into side control.
Redding is rocked!
It looks like Otis Redding has been cut. Gonzalez just content to control the position. Oh Redding is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gonzalez scoring with punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redding takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gonzalez advances to full mount. A nice elbow there by Gonzalez. Redding is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Otis Redding's cut is getting worse. Gonzalez controlling from mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Redding takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Gonzalez dominated that round. The cut man is working on Otis Redding's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gonzalez lands with a right and another and another! Redding is in big trouble! Gonzalez lands again and this time it's lights out for Redding! A quality knockout there for Gonzalez.
